Looking for "off the beaten path" things to do... For example I found a float trip on the blackwater river I think it was called... Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

The Blackwater is great! Try a few of the springs in the area like Morrison. Econfina River kayak. Florida Caverns State Park in Marianna. Wakulla Springs State Park. Take a river tour of the Choctawhatchee.

We'd love to hear about your adventures!

There is a guy in inlet beach that can take you on a fishing tour/charter in kayaks. I run a beach service out that way and see them out there all the time. Rosemary's Beachservice has catamarans that you can rent or have a beach attendant take you out on one. Hope this helps.

That sounds like so much fun. I'd love to do that. But hubby has never been able to sit on the floor, much less a kayak, because his hamstrings are so tight. PT hasn't helped.

To those of you who try these adventures, I concur with Kurt -- please share your experiences with us.

This area is just rich with extraordinary opportunities for recreation other than just the beach.

Stop by SK8 30A BOARD SHOP (www.sk830a.com) in Blue Mountain Beach ANYTIME! We are open 7 days a week. We set up skate ramps during the week. You can also get a quick lesson on a longboard & Beach Mountain Land Paddle {once you learn, you will be hooked & 30A is perfect for enjoying this sport}. Also, call the Beach Party Bus (www.beachpartybus.com) {my wife runs it} and she can plan an entire day or night of fun things to do! The Beach Party Bus holds up to 30 people, so it would be perfect to take a group to any of the springs/parks nearby! Or use it for a night out--it can definitely go "off the beaten path"!!! Take care!
