Hi all.. I am looking for a spot to propose to my girlfriend, she loves live oaks and I love the water.
Can anyone recommend a spot between Ft. Walton and maybe watercolor or Miramar Beach that might offer a beautiful view of the water from a live oak grove or trail with them on it? It's so hard to tell in pictures of various parks.

Thanks in advance!
JC.

I was looking at that! Do you know if there are trails with the live oaks or that take you to the oaks? I would prefer a more private setting than being in front of the house there.
Yes there are private spaces and often very few people in the whole park. From the parking are you can walk through ancient oaks, paths, and gardens down to the bayou.

The dune trail in Grayton Beach State park begins in a small oak hammock in the dunes and winds along the shore of Western Lake - not giant oaks but spectacular.

The boardwalk over the dunes in Deer Lake State Park is awesome. It begins in woods but no massive oaks.

Topsail Hill Preserve State Park is also amazing as is Camp Helen State Park which has large oaks as well as views of the lake and Gulf.

Camp Helen is probably exactly what you're looking for.

Double check open times as most states parks close at dusk.
