I bought a dozen hot pink roses for daughter's BD on 1/25 at Publix. They cost $19.99 and were gorgeous. If we wanted to take the time to drive to Whole Foods in ATL, we could get two dozen pretty VD roses for about $25. No need to spend florist prices for cut flowers because they are dying before you buy them. That's why I hate cut flowers. It's too depressing to me to throw away something so beautiful that dies so fast. I'd rather spend money on something more transcendental.

The exception ... really good food, that fairly quickly ends up as poop.
