We have been unhappy with our current landscape maintenance company for a couple of years. Our next-door neighbors became permanent residents in the past year or so. They realized that our HOA was paying the landscape maintenance company to do the neighborhood to our east, not ours.

Thanks, neighbors!
We do our own landscape maintenance. We took a class from Randy at the former Gourd Garden (now Eastern Lake Nursery), and we were sold on the idea of zero-maintenance landscaping with natural plant materials.
We have offered to do our neighborhood?s landscape maintenance for a lot less than the HOA is paying now. It?s weird, but we kind of enjoy doing this at the beach. Plus we bring down our ?boys? (as SWGB refers to them ? LOL) from Georgia, and they do the hard labor for us. We would consider doing your landscape maintenance if you didn?t have grass to mow, but that wouldn?t work for us in the high season because our home is rented every week, and we?d have nowhere to stay. With our essentially zero-maintenance landscaping, we can do landscape maintenance for our own home before and after high rental season in the summer, and it looks great.
