The Seaside Mardi Gras Parade/Party (Feb 26) looks like fun!! Anyone going?

The festivities begin at 12:00 PM, as we partner with our friends from Abrakadoodle to offer children the opportunity to make Mardi Gras-themed projects. Children will be able to make a fun Jester hat and parade baton, along with having their faces painted with the traditional purple, green, and gold colors. At 2:00 PM, join us for the Fifth Annual Seaside KIDS Mardi Gras Parade, featuring the Krewe of Wee-De-Leis. Wear your outrageous costumes to show off your Mardi Gras spirit as you march though Seaside. The parade starts in front of the new location of Seaside KIDS in Central Square, makes its way around Central Square and through the businesses south of 30A before heading back to the starting point.

Following the parade, the event continues as the Seaside Amphitheater hosts our Zydeco Fais Do-Do, at 3:00PM. Join our good friends, The Michael Foster Project, as they bring the sounds of New Orleans to Seaside.

No one? I thought there was a large New Orleans contingent in Sowal! At least can someone recommend the best place to get a king cake?

Thanks so much for posted about our exciting, family-friendly Mardi Gras celebration in Seaside! We're geared up for a Saturday of fun and hope you'll be out to enjoy the day with us! When you find the best King Cake in town, let us know...we've heard that Publix has a great King Cake, as does Restaurant Fire!

Today's the day for Seaside's Mardi Gras Celebration! Lots of fun for the entire family. It all kicks off at noon...until then, check out this great video from our friend Brandan Babineaux of The Michael Foster Project in Seaside last year! They will be back performing around town from 12-2PM and then on the stage from 3-5PM!

Even the four-legged friend gets into the mix at the end and "sings" with the band!

See you at noon!

Publix's King Cake is just as good at the one's that I've ordered from Gambino's. I'll bet that Fire's is really good, and I'll guess it's homemade.
