The South Walton Tourist Development Council announced the hiring of Jon Ervin as Director of Marketing and Communications. In his new role, Ervin will oversee the organization’s marketing and public relations efforts, including branding, advertising, media relations and market research.

“As a local resident for many years, and an integral player in our tourism industry, Jon’s knowledge of South Walton is as broad as it is deep,” said Dawn Moliterno, Executive Director of the South Walton TDC. “He brings a wonderful blend of creative and operations experience to the position, along with a reputation for vision and integrity that will be of great benefit to our organization. We enthusiastically welcome Jon to the TDC team.”
Ervin’s experience includes more than 20 years in tourism and brand management, most recently as Director of Public Relations and Marketing in Seaside, Florida, for Cottage Rental Agency, where he also served on the executive committee. During his tenure, Seaside received numerous accolades from notable media sources including Frommer’s, Travel+Leisure Magazine and Condé Nast Traveller (U.K.).
Prior to joining Seaside, Ervin either managed or marketed a total of 11 golf facilities and four major resorts, and has been on staff at universities including the University of Michigan, Illinois, and Michigan State University. Jon lives in South Walton with his wife, Nancy.
“I can’t imagine a more exciting time to join the South Walton TDC team,” Ervin noted. “Experiencing a record summer season following the launch of the new brand adds incredible momentum to current and future projects. I look forward to working collaboratively with the TDC team and our tourism partners in promoting our uniquely beautiful destination.”
