Art Reception at Palms Conference Center
Solo Exhibit with Joan Vienot, South Walton artist
Sunday, Feb. 7
2-5pm
South Walton artist Joan Vienot's art is on display at the Palms Conference Center in Panama City Beach through March 11, 2016. The solo exhibit was awarded to Joan as winner of People's Choice Best in Show at the 2nd annual Local Color Plein Air Festival in Lynn Haven, FL, last November.
Joan is showing more than 50 framed oil paintings, most of them painted en plein air. Meet the artist and enjoy light hors d'oeuvres at the reception on Super Bowl Sunday, February 7, 2016, between 2:00 and 5:00 in the afternoon.
Palms Conference Center is at 9201 Front Beach Road, Panama City Beach, FL 32407. For viewing times on other days, contact Helen Ballance, (850) 541-3867. The exhibit is produced by Beach Art Group in support of Sunshine Art Center, Inc., a 501(c)3 non-profit.
Joan Vienot practices art on location, in the moment, through plein air. She loves the challenge of painting outdoors, capturing the essence of the moment in time. Her highest satisfaction is when her viewer not only recognizes the location, but also knows what time of day it was painted and what the weather was like.
Ms. Vienot lives in Point Washington, in Walton County, FL. A member of the Board of Directors of the Cultural Arts Alliance, Joan serves on the A+Art Committee helping to produce exhibits of CAA member artists’ works in public places. She supports other local arts organizations. She also serves as Coordinator for the Emerald Coast Plein Air Painters, who meet weekly to paint plein air throughout the Walton-Okaloosa area. Ms. Vienot’s other works include figure drawings, photography, and commissioned painting en plein air at wedding receptions.
