WRITERS CAN LEARN HOW TO GET PUBLISHED
AT CAA WORKSHOP WITH AUTHOR DAVID MAGEE
The Cultural Arts Association of Walton County will hold a workshop with award-winning columnist, David Magee, on how to become a published writer on Saturday, January 17, from 9:00 am until 12:00 noon at the Library at Redfish Village. Magee is in Walton County for the month of January as part of the Seaside Institute?s Escape to Create artist in residency program.
Former newspaper editor and award-winning columnist, David Magee, is the author of nine non-fiction books and the founder and co-owner of one of the South?s largest independent bookstores, Rock Point Books, in Chattanooga, TN. He is the founder of an independent publishing house, Jefferson Press. His self-published book, Moonpie, was described as ?essential reading? by the American Library Journal. An immensely popular writer, Magee?s work has been featured in national and international publications.
Escape To Create is a month-long multi-disciplinary retreat held Jan. 4 ? Feb. 1, 2009 for writers, artists, scholars and other creative people who are fully engaged with art and ideas.
