Out of the Blue: Watercolor’s Newest Lifestyle Boutique Is Indigo
Santa Rosa Beach—How many shades of blue can one count at the water’s edge on a typical 30A day? An azure sky, the cobalt horizon, cerulean waves— it was all those shades of blue that prompted Catherine Walega to move to Santa Rosa Beach two years ago. “I was so energized by the natural beauty of the area,” she recalls. Now, Walega is adding her own hue of blue with Indigo: A Lifestyle Boutique. Specializing in clothing, art, and decor, Indigo’s grand opening in Watercolor will feature light bites from the Honeycomb Kitchen & Catering, specialty spirits, giveaways, 20 percent off all jewelry, and live music by Zoe Walega and Max McCann from 5-7 p.m on March 1.
“I chose the name because the Indigo plant is used to make the dye for denim and other fabrics, and it also has spiritual properties: it encourages great intuition, deep sincerity, and integrity.” Walega says. “We founded our business based on these traits, and we hope that when you visit our store you will feel the deep connection between nature and fashion.”
Likewise, Indigo is slated to greet shoppers with more than meets the eye; not merely a shop, rather a shopping experience.
“We’ve curated more than a fresh collection of clothing, accessories, vintage turquoise jewelry, and handmade art. We’ve worked to create a different experience at Indigo, something that makes you linger a little longer and draws you back, like this place did for us,” Walega adds.
The Indigo experience is completed by a fashion-forward staff centered on inspiration. “We want people to feel inspired, and at the same time, at home.”
