Well folks this is going to be a big opening.
Amavida welcomes the Moore family into the space on the evening of September 23rd. The Moores are a very tight knit family that create art together from recycled materials, grow much of their own food together as a family, educate each other as a family, and do just about everything together as a family. We will be celebrating the strength of the family and community with "The Moore Family Folk Art Exhibit". Please join us for one of our more ambitious art opening endeavors! Not only will there be wonderful art, there will also be a Polaroid party taking place all night, food provided by Raw and Juicy and the Seaside Farmers Market, and a live jam session with Mike Whitty, Arix Zalace, and a whole slew of other musicians. This is going to be a good time, too good to miss. To learn more about the polaroid party read below

Polaroid Party!
Ever wondered what happened to Polaroid cameras and film? Well wonder no more. Read below to quickly find out. Alan will be bringing 6 polaroid cameras and some Impossible polaroid film that he purchased from the last Polaroid production plant. We will then give these six cameras to six photographers who will use them to take pictures during the opening. The photographers will put the pictures on a back drop the Moore family created. This interaction between the photographers and the participants will be the creation of a piece of art.

Learn more about the Impossible project at www.the-impossible-project.com

In October 2008 The Impossible Project saved the last Polaroid production plant for integral instant film in Enschede (NL) and started to invent and produce totally new instant film materials for traditional Polaroid cameras. In 2010 Impossible saved analog instant photography from extinction by releasing various, brand new and unique instant films.
Therewith Impossible prevents more than

300.000.000

perfectly functioning Polaroid cameras from becoming obsolete, changes the world of photography and keeps variety, tangibility and analogue creativity and possibilites alive.
