Our chapter, Choctawhatchee Audubon Society, is currently facing a critical moment. With only five board members left, we are struggling to keep up with the demands of organizing and running the bird walks, educational programs, and conservation efforts that we all cherish. Without additional support from our community, we may not be able to continue providing these wonderful experiences and resources.
We need your help to ensure the survival and success of our chapter. Here are a few ways you can get involved:
1. **Join the Board**: We are looking for passionate individuals to join our board and help guide our chapter’s future. No prior experience is necessary—just a love for birds and a commitment to our mission. Be open to giving your opinion, ideas, and a bit of time to meet with us.
2. **Volunteer**: Whether it's helping with programs, leading bird walks, or assisting with administrative tasks, any time you can contribute would be greatly appreciated.
3. **Spread the Word**: Share our need for support with friends, family, and other community members who might be interested in getting involved.
Our board meetings are usually in Niceville or Shalimar. Our programs are in Niceville, and most of our bird walks are in hotspots throughout Okaloosa County.
If you are interested in helping or have any questions, please reply to this email or contact Dave Clausen, our current president at daveclausen99@yahoo.com. We would love to hear from you and discuss how you can contribute to our chapter’s future at our next board meeting!
