Hello SoWal,

Happy St. Patrick?s Day!!! Did you know that St. Patrick?s real name was Maewyn Succat. There is some question about his original place of birth. It was either in Wales in 385 AD or Britain in 387 AD. We?ll just say somewhere in the British Isles. Legend has it, he was kidnapped and sold into slavery at the age of 16. After 6 years, he was able to escape to France where he became a priest and then 2nd Bishop to Ireland. Green is the most recognized color for this holiday as it represents Spring, shamrocks, and Ireland. St. Patrick?s Day arrived in America in 1737 and was initially celebrated in Boston. It has since spread throughout the nation with countless parades, shalaylees, and excessive amounts of green beer.
If you, your family, and friends plan to celebrate St. Patrick?s Day in the usual fashion be careful not to overdo and drive. If you plan to celebrate at home, make sure your porch and deck railings can hold up the serious ?leaners? and don?t let ?bob & weave? put their fists, elbows, or heads through your walls. If the inevitable happens, call Handyman Connection (622-5262) and we?ll repair your holiday mishaps.
