Red Bar! It is quintessential 30A.
Now if you'd just start back serving breakfast so that we won't have to wait until March, we'd be really happy. BTW saw Oli at Liar's Club breakfast last Saturday.
Can anyone tell me what was at that location before Red Bar? I remember driving with friends from Destin to that building in 1987 for dinner. Didn't it have an upscale cuisine? What was it called? Our friends and we had babies at that time, and our nanny was keeping the babies in the friends' condo in Destin. Just as we were being served, we got a call from the nanny saying that Beach Jacket was sick. We left our food and drove back to Destin. Got pulled over by the cops for speeding on new 98, explained the situation, and they let us go.

It was the Paradise Cafe, which moved/morphed into Criolla's. Before that, it was the Short Branch Saloon (just your basic bar). Before that, it was called Grayton Place, not even a bar, just a hangout with pinball and ping-pong. Also been known as the Butler Store for many, many years.

Thanks. I always have this deja vu feeling every time I go there. When we went in August 1987 it was probably Paradise Cafe or Criolla's. I just can't remember what it used to be because we were pretty flipped out since our miracle baby was sick and she was 20 miles away.
Anyhow, happy anniversary, Red Bar! Our baby turned adult loves Red Bar!
