South Walton area groups and organizations are participating in today's global GIVING TUESDAY event. This is an opportunity to help support vital non-profit groups who are working to help our community in many different ways year round and especially during this time of need for so many.

We're sharing some of our community's Giving Tuesday fundraising events from some of our outstanding groups. Please consider donating. Feel free to post a local group you would like to promote here as well.

GIVING TUESDAY May 5, 2020

#GivingTuesdayNow is a global day of giving and unity that will take place on May 5, 2020 as an emergency response to the unprecedented need caused by COVID-19.

A global threat like COVID-19 affects more than just the infected. A pandemic like this touches every person on the planet, and it presents an opportunity to come together as a global community.

Together we’ll show our support for frontline workers, unsung heroes, and the grassroots organizations that are helping our most vulnerable communities around the world. Mark your calendar for May 5, 2020 and get ready for the most epic #GivingTuesday yet. GivingTuesdayNow | May 5, 2020

Ideas
We can still show social connection and come together on behalf of our communities even while practicing physical distancing.
  • Support healthcare workers by donating supplies, advocating for them, and staying home.
  • Give to the organizations that you love most – no amount is too little and nonprofits need our support.
  • Help out small businesses by buying gift cards or writing an online review.
  • Combat loneliness by reaching out to a neighbor, relative, seniors or veterans.

Food For Thought
Serving children and families in Okaloosa and Walton Counties

#GivingTuesdayNow will help Food For Thought kick off our Summer Meal Program, in order to continue to feed families over the summer months. Typically, we feed 600 families each summer, but in the current environment, we know that the need will be ongoing and growing.

#HowWeHelp: By continuing to fight childhood hunger, and be a support of our community during this pandemic to ensure no one is left hungry while schools are closed providing food every other week with at least 30 Food Items for each family.

#YouCanHelp: By donating today. $30 will feed one family for one week. No amount is too small and all amounts add up to help fight the hunger gap. Please share via email, text, and social media! You can also set up a peer-to-peer fundraising campaign through the link below.

TEXT: GIVNOW to 44321

Cultural Arts Alliance of Walton County

It's #GivingTuesdayNow! There's no better time to amplify your giving efforts! In support of #GivingTuesdayNow, gifts through the campaign are eligible for matching funds throughout the ENTIRE month of May through a collaborative initiative between Nonprofit Hub, Do More Good, and Firespring. A contribution of any size will make an impact as we work to bring healing and hope to our corner of the world.

SUPPORT THE ARTS!
Inspire others to help strengthen our community by giving to the Cultural Arts Alliance! All funds received will go towards our recently launched Emergency Relief Fund for Artists to address the immediate economic needs of local professional artists who have experienced loss of income due to COVID-19.

We realize there are many organizations you can choose to support, and we appreciate your commitment to making sure the Arts and all of our local artists continue to thrive. We couldn't do the important work of advancing the arts in Walton County without the generous contributions of time, talents, and funding from our members, volunteers and supporters. Thank you!!
