Grand Boulevard Festival of Trees Kick-off

Festival of Trees is an annual tree decorating contest where area non-profit organizations vie for $5,000 is cash prizes and the trees remain on display November 26 – December 25 in Grand Park in Grand Boulevard at Sandestin. Grand Boulevard’s fourth annual “Festival of Trees” will showcase more than a dozen uniquely decorated Christmas trees from area non-profit organizations, in Grand Park.
A panel of judges comprised of local business leaders will judge the first and second place winners on kick-off night Tuesday, November 26, 4:00 p.m. – 6:00 p.m. and the winners will be announced at 6 p.m. that evening. The public is invited to vote for their favorite tree at the same time and the People’s Choice Award winner will also be announced at 6 p.m. This event is free and open to the public.
This year, Seaside Repertory Theatre will perform a special holiday presentation during kick-off night, November 26 at 5:00 p.m.
During the Christmas season, when so many people are looking for beautiful and colorful holiday displays, participating organizations have their name and mission in front of hundreds of visitors who will come to view the “Festival of Trees” in Grand Boulevard. The organizations are encouraged to bring their message materials throughout the event for visitors to learn more about their mission and how to support it.
Last year more than 40,000 people visited Grand Boulevard and enjoyed the trees. More than 1,200 people voted for their favorite tree. Congratulations to Fisher House of the Emerald Coast and Shelter House – who also won the People’s Choice award - and for their winning designs!

Alaqua Animal Refuge, Building Homes for Heroes, Children in Crisis, Children's Volunteer Health Network, Destin Charity Wine Auction Foundation, Emerald Coast Children's Advocacy Center, Emerald Coast Relay for Life, Fisher House of the Emerald Coast, Guardian Ad Litem, Junior League of the Emerald Coast, OASIS of Northwest Florida and Shelter House.
Cash awards go to one Best of Show winner (First Place), one Second Place winner and a People’s Choice Award for the tree voted on the most by the public. 2013 Prizes: Best of Show tree $2,000; Second Place $1000; People’s Choice $2000 and all organizations received $250 to offset any decoration costs incurred.
