Join Mattie Kelly Arts Foundation for an unforgettable celebration of creativity, community, and culture at the 28th Annual Festival of the Arts Oct 28 & 29 at the Cultural Arts Village in Destin Florida.

The festivities kick off with the Arty Kick Off Party on Friday, Oct. 27 at the Henderson Beach Resort in Destin.

ART EXHIBITION
Immerse yourself in the work of more than 100 artists from across the U.S. and Europe (Estonia), showcasing a diverse range of artistic styles in 17 different mediums, from oil and watercolor paintings to glass art, clay pottery, metal sculpture, jewelry, and more. Be sure to meet Roger van Lieshout, this year's poster art contest winner.

ART IN ACTION
Experience the magic of Plein Air artists capturing landscapes live, watch artists demonstrating their techniques in tented booths, and participate in a hands-on mini workshop by the renowned artist Justin Gaffrey of Gaffrey Art.

MUSIC
Enjoy the rhythmic beats of live music performed by six local and regional musicians and bands at the Dugas Pavilion, creating the perfect atmosphere to accompany your culinary delights.

FOOD + DRINKS
Savor the delectable offerings from local food trucks, and don't forget to visit the Wine Bar & Beer Garden for refreshing adult beverages. Gather with friends and family, dine al fresco, and soak in the festive atmosphere.

KIDS ART
Calling all young art enthusiasts to the interactive Creative Station to suit up and let their creativity run wild in a "splatter away paint party.”

FUN
Enjoy street performers, live art demos, and capture the moment at creative photo stations and with keepsake Festival souvenirs (available for purchase).

HOURS
Admission is free! Hours: 9 a.m. to 5 p.m., Saturday; 10 a.m. to 4 p.m., Sunday.

Participation in the festival helps support ArtsReach — MKAF's arts education community outreach programs benefiting K-12 students, children, and adults with special needs, as well as the military community along the Emerald Coast. Your presence makes a difference!

One of the unique features of MKAF’s Festival of the Arts is the Collaborative Art Exhibit, which showcases the work of seasoned and emerging adult artists and local student artists competing for the $1,050 McIlroy Awards given in honor of the late Patricia McIlroy, Destin’s first First Lady and an MKAF advocate and patron.

Mattie Kelly Arts Foundation Calls for Volunteers for the 28th Annual Festival of the Arts, Oct.27-29

Do you have a heart for art? Then feel free to lend a hand. Mattie Kelly Arts Foundation is seeking volunteers for the 28th Annual Festival of the Arts kicks off on Friday, Oct. 27 with a reception at Henderson Beach Resort; the exhibition is Saturday, Oct. 28 (9 a.m. to 5 p.m.) and Sunday, Oct. 29 (10 a.m. to 4 p.m.) on The Dugas Pavilion lawn in Destin.

Various shifts are available including set up (on Friday, Oct. 27), main entry, artist relief, children’s tent and beverage booths as well as break down and more. All volunteers are welcome to arrive prior to their assigned shift or after their morning shift to visit the artists and enjoy the festival.

Opportunities are available for students looking to donate their time in exchange for community service hours.

One of the Southeast’s premier festivals, the Festival of the Arts showcases the original artwork of more than 100 artists from across the U.S. (and Europe) who will compete for $12,000 in cash award prizes. Festival features include a food bistro, wine & beer garden, live music, art activities for kids, souvenir posters and t-shirts, art raffle and more. Free shuttle service and convenient on-site parking is also available. Admission is free.
