Events for SoWal Calendar

I'm making up a calendar of events for our guests and looked to SoWal.com's calendar, as well as the calendar for Seaside and Rosemary Beach. Some people don't bring laptops to the beach on vacation, so it's good to hae a hard copy for them. Watercolor's isn't updated yet and it's unclear whether their events are open to the public. Does Alys Beach or anyone else have regular events that they want guests of 30A to know about? Where can we find additional information, especially for regular events (e.g., After beach happy hours and tastings on Fridays?) that aren't already posted on SoWal.com (and you can post them directly to the calendar I think). Thanks.

Hey Paula- Seaside Repertory Theatre events can be found at Seaside Repertory Theatre | Seaside, Florida | Plays, Movies, Improv Comedy Shows. The season schedule is up!

For events at Seaside, check their website, or PM Seaside Events (Adam) and ask if he can get you a schedule- he will probably have the most complete one.

Watercolor's website has a calendar too.

yoWe work hard to post most events on our calendar. We encourage individuals and companies to post the smaller events that change often - movie nights, nightly live music, happy hours and such. Things change from week to week so it's hard to keep up with all the changes and additions.

Our calendar and forums are mobile device friendly if your guests have internet access.

Hi Paula ... keep meaning to say that I am so glad you are back posting!

From what I can gather, Alys Beach is working only a month or two ahead on the calendar, so it might be hard to include stuff from them in your master calendar. But they seem to be doing much more this year, so it is worth trying to find out what they have scheduled so far.

I admire your efforts but I am not sure I would attempt what you are doing! Good luck!

I'm glad I'm back posting as well, TFT. I'm back to spending waaay too much time on SoWal.com but I'm enjoying it! I had a very busy year and things are just starting to slow down a bit. Now if I could only get to SoWal more often...

I just focus on the recurring events (with a few exceptions like Memorial Day and 4th of July). I don't try to do a perfect all-inclusive calendar. I have the Seaside and Rosemary Beach events, and would like to get some of the regular Friday Apres Beach events on there as well. Anything that's recurring and a good time for families in the summer.

Do you know if the Villages of South Walton fountain that dances to music is likely to be up and running this summer. We love it but it wasn't working last August when we were there, but it may have been considered "off season".

And the SoWal.com calendar is the first place I go to find out what's going on, but some people really don't use their laptops of have wireless phone set ups (I've resisted the blackberry/iPhone until now but I may break down and get one soon).

Seaside REP, Seaside Events, Alys Beach, WaterColor - and others, keep us up to date as far in advance as possible. there are smaller events that do not make the calendar, but you can usually find those posted here if you keep looking at the forums! your best bet may be to do a general calendar with the events that are pretty well known/fixed for the year, but provide links to other calendars, like SoWal.com, Seaside, etc, for guests to check out on their own.

Our music forum is one people may really want to know about! so much great music in one little place! concert series from Seaside to Baytowne Wharf. Fantastic local bands at Red Bar, Stinky's, Jambone's, etc. its endless!

Thanks, Tootsie. I'm just putting the repeated events on the calendar and then, as you suggested, letting them know about SoWal.com calendar. Personally, I can't wait to get there in a few days and will be checking the board for event for sure.
