The Los Angeles-based Othmer and Philadelphia artist Serbu have collaborated for several years to produce unforgettable song and stunning video . Indie siren and international performer Othmer returns fresh to the stage from her appearance at the 30A Singer/ Songwriter Festival. A classically trained pianist and impassioned performer, Othmer’s powerful voice and blues and soul-laced songwriting have earned her top awards from the music industry (Billboard, Philly Music Awards, National Academy of Recording Arts and Sciences). Appearing with her Escape To Create collaborative partner, the awarded writer, director, producer and filmmaker Jena Serbu (Winner Best Experimental Short – Philadelphia Film Festival; Winner Best Production Design – National Film Challenge, etc.), the creative duo will give an exciting multi-media presentation of their individual and collective works of art, music, theatre, and film.
Othmer and Serbu continue their barrier-breaking collaboration during their Escape To Create residency. The team is writing a full-length theatre production set in 19th Century New Orleans that emphasizes the role of music as the storytelling device.
