EMERALD COAST THEATRE COMPANY OFFERS SEVEN FALL EDUCATIONAL YOUTH CLASSES AND PROGRAMS
Miramar Beach, Fla. (July 31, 2019) — Calling all ‘drama queens’ (and kings) from tots to teens to take the stage and take part in Emerald Coast Theatre Company’s (ECTC) Fall 2019 Theater Educational Programs now serving DeFuniak Springs.
“We are looking forward to an exciting fall this year with growth in our programming at our performance space in Grand Boulevard Town Center and the launch of a partnership with the Florida Chautauqua Theatre in DeFuniak Springs for an educational outreach program there,” said ECTC co-founder and producing artistic director Nathanael Fisher. “We realize most of the schools in our community cannot offer the theater arts and so we are thrilled to be able to supplement with our professional education programs.”
ECTC has extended its educational programming. This year, each of the classes are offered for a longer duration. The ECTC Little Rascals program is approximately 9 weeks long, while ECTC Kids and Teens programs span 13 weeks, providing young thespians more time to engage and learn.
All programs are offered at either Emerald Coast Theatre Company’s (ECTC) performance space located at 560 Grand Boulevard in Grand Boulevard Town Center in Miramar Beach or at the Florida Chautauqua Theatre (FCT) located at 848 Baldwin Ave. in DeFuniak Springs.

“We Are Monsters”

Join us as our Little Rascals bring to life a hilarious new musical that follows human kids into a monster cabaret filled with quirky monster characters, who discover the importance of friendship and celebrating the attributes that make each of us different and unique. Designed specifically for our youngest players, our Little Rascals class allows students to explore acting, singing, and movement in an energetic, nurturing environment that fosters creativity and collaboration. This class will culminate with a mini play on the last day of class. Cost is $125 per person.

If you know the four main food groups — candy, candy canes, candy corn and syrup — or if you believe that the best way to spread Christmas cheer is singing loud for all to hear, boy, have we got a show for you. Whether you consider yourself a cheerful elf or a grumpy New Yorker, there is a role for everyone in “Elf Jr.” This touching, hilarious and sweet story of Buddy the Elf is sure to fill your fall with festive fun. Cost is $375 per person.
Musical Theatre Cabaret Class
Aug. 28-Oct. 2, 5th-12th grade, Wednesdays, 4:30-6:30 p.m., ECTC, Miramar Beach
Performance: Oct. 2 at 6 p.m.
Want more vocal training and experience? Take a class with opera master Peter Lake. This class focuses on vocal training, while preparing you to take the stage. Students will rehearse one to two pieces throughout the six weeks and perform for parents in a cabaret-style show at the end of class. Cost is $170 per person.
Junior Thespian Troupe (International Thespians Society (ITS)

In partnership with Seaside Neighborhood School, this ensemble of thespians is a chartered member of the Educational Theatre Association’s Junior Thespians and will be competing at district competition. They also will be making appearances within our community, sharing their love of performing and participating in ECTC’s educational programs.
Junior Thespians is for any student in grades six through eighth, who is interested in developing personally in the craft of acting, while creating a unique performance piece with fellow players. This troupe will focus on specialized training, acting techniques and implementing those techniques into performance. Cost is $570 per person.
ECTC is a non-profit professional theater company founded by Anna and Nathanael Fisher, MFA, in 2012 with a mission to enrich and entertain the Emerald Coast community through professional and educational theater.
A $25 non-refundable registration fee. Tuition may be split into payments. Registration fees vary per class. Payment plans, sibling, and military discounts are available.
