Celebrate Earth Day from 10am to 5pm on April 20 at Topsail Hill Preserve State Park with a festival and a Sunset 5K race starting at 5pm. The festival is free and open to the public and will feature environmental education exhibits and hands-on activities, children's programs, cooking demos and more! Organizations are invited to participate in the event, now in its fifth year, attracting over 600 visitors yearly.

The 5K race is on a paved path that winds through the Preserve that loops at Campbell Lake. Participants can pre-register in person at the ranger station at the entrance to Topsail Hill Preserve State Park, or register online at active.com. Registration closing date is Thursday April 18 and the cost is $20.

Proceeds from the festival and 5K race benefit The Friends of Topsail Hill Preserve State whose mission is to support environmental education and conservation efforts at the park while promoting community involvement.
