The Mermaid Sea's
Home School Program

Basic Information:
? Grades 3K to 2nd grade
? 10 Openings available
? Three days a week –T-W-Th
? Three hours a day – 9am to 12pm
? Program Starts September 8,2008




Our Home school Program will provide:

? 3K: An academic based program including practical life and sensorial learning with a focus on development with a multisensory approach. Pre-reading, pre-writing, and pre-math skills will all be included.
? 4K: We will use a comprehensive phonics program to establish early reading. A hands on math program will be used to support learning to count and basic math concepts. Hand writing and early spelling programs will also be used. An example of these programs would be keyboarding, movable alphabet, sand paper letters, and letter stamping.
? 5K-2nd Grade: Will be comparable to Sunshine State Standards and beyond. We will use a multitude of programs for all subjects. For language, writing, and reading we will use Open Court and Explode the Code to continue a phonic approach to reading. For math we will use Montessori Math and Math-You-See as for hands on learning of math concepts.
? Our program will also include opportunities for movement (Brain Gym), a time to work on fine motor skills through craft projects, and a chance to learn basic aspects of French, German, Spanish, and sign language.

? Registration Form Due by:
Friday August 15,2008

? Registration Fee: $50 (due when you turn in form)

? Tuition:
o $180 a week
o Tuition is to be paid by semester.
o Sept ’08- Dec ’08 = $2520 (14 weeks)
o Jan ’09 – May ’09 =$3420 (19 weeks)

Oh man! I've been looking for something like this for ages... I finally gave up and signed my little guy up for preschool. Granted, I can hardly afford the $300 a month for preschool... Maybe next year...
