The Coastal Branch Library is holding a “Summer Memories Photo Contest,” thanks to support from Friends of the Coastal Branch Library. Submit a photo of your favorite summer memory and have it displayed in the library. All ages are welcome to participate. Photos must be submitted July 1st through July 31st 2011. The size of the photo must be 5 x 7 or larger. Entries submitted by those who are 17 years old or younger will have a chance to win a $25.00, $15.00, or $10.00 cash prize. Photos can be submitted to the Coastal Branch Library, 437 Greenway Trail, Santa Rosa Beach, FL 32459 and must include a signed entry form which is available at the Coastal Branch Library. One photo entry will be accepted per person.
Also sponsored by the Friends of the Coastal Branch Library, Story Time will be presented on Wednesday’s beginning June 22 through July 27 except the first full week in July when the story time will be on Friday July 8th starting at 11:30. Elementary age children are encouraged to attend, meet Miss Dolly, interact with stories and participate in crafts.
A Storytelling Workshop is scheduled for Mondays at 10:00 a.m. for June 27, and July 11, 18, 25. The workshop is for elementary age children grades 3 and up. Story teller Susie Arnold will present the art of storytelling with puppets and props inviting young people to “tell” stories. Those children interested in learning the art of storytelling are encouraged to brush up their memories on popular fairy tales.
