January 16
Stacy DiDonato, Education Coordinator with the Gulfarium Marine Adventure Park in Fort Walton Beach will present a Marine Life lecture. From 1998-2012 Stacy was actively involved in Gulfarium’s Animal Department as a marine mammal trainer and supervisor. She was honored when management appointed her as Education Coordinator, and she looks forward to creating innovative educational programming. She is a south Florida native and found her way to the Emerald Coast in 1995 where she resides with her husband and son. http://www.gulfarium.com/

Dr. David Ott presents "Evening in Vienna". Dr. Ott will present music of Mozart & Beethoven; music and times at the end of the 18th century in Vienna."Dr. David Ott is an internationally recognized composer and conductor whose impressive works have been performed and recorded by some of the most notable orchestras in the United States and Europe. Fred Bassett will present preservation of hummingbirds. He is a retired Air Force officer who has worked with birds for over 20 years. Fred bands all types of birds each April and October at the Fort Morgan banding station on the Gulf Coast and travels each summer to study hummingbirds in western states. During the winter he documents western hummingbirds wintering in south Alabama and Florida, and in the last fifteen winters he has captured more than 2,000 hummingbirds of ten different species in the area. Results of his research have been published in several national publications.

February 13
Act 4 Murder Mystery Theater presented by Paula Hilton, actress, director and screenwriter will be on stage. Act4Murder is a professional murder mystery troupe who has been performing original, comedic murder mysteries for dinner theater in Northwest Florida since 2003. The shows are written, directed and produced by Paula Hilton, a member of Emerald Coast Writers, Sisters in Crime, and Mystery Writers of America, and include performers who are experienced actors with a flair for comedy and a love of dinner theater. http://www.act4murder.com/

Diane Merkel, historian and author of Defuniak Springs will speak on Walton County History. Diane Merkel is a 1974 graduate of Miami University (Ohio) and has always loved American history. Prior to moving to Florida, she was active with the Fairfax (Virginia) Genealogy Society and worked on the committee that opened the Fairfax Museum and Visitors Center. Since relocating to the Florida Panhandle, she has served on the boards of two museums and was a founding member of the Panhandle Historical Preservation Alliance (PHPA). She is currently the president of the Walton County Heritage Association. Merkel is the author of Images of America: Defuniak Springs (Arcadia Publishing, 2008) and numerous articles and booklets. She is currently working on Images of America: Coastal Walton County, which will be published in the spring of 2014.

Jennifer Jones, owner of "Nature of the Beach" will present a power point presentation on native plants, pollinators, wildlife and you. Jennifer grew up in Atlanta, Ga., and spent her childhood summers in Seagrove Beach when the sand dunes and forests were pristine, wildflowers and wildlife were prolific and most roads were dirt and nameless. Gardening is her passion and she has worked in the horticulture industry for 23 years. She is owner of the gardening business, Nature of the Beach. Her talks focus on habitat minded gardening that concentrates on the use of native plants and wildflowers, the conservation of wildlife in their native ecosystems and the promotion of pollinators that we so desperately need to protect. She volunteers for South Walton Turtle Watch, Florida Lakewatch, Florida Audubon Society and the Bilophilia Center, to name a few.

March 6
Charlene Grafton presents a health related topic titled; "The Importance of Your Family Health History" Charlene Grafton is the author of the book What's in Your Genes? Human Threads Linking Genetics and Genealogy. She is an accomplished speaker and writer for organizations large and small, emphasizing the need of raising the health improvement of all Americans plus lowering the cost of healthcare in the U.S. by learning the intricacies of genes, genealogy, genomics and gene testing.
