The Coastal Branch Library will celebrate National Library Week APR 14-19 along with local health and wellness experts. Enjoy children's activities, Easter Egg Hunt, book swap, free presentations, free fitness classes, and enter a raffle to win Pure Barre classes. Check out the week long schedule of events below.
April 14
9-10am | Join personal trainer Sue Samuels of Dune Fitness for a free Chair Fitness class.
April 15 | Kids Day | Receive special treats when you check out a book or get a new library card. New card holders get your picture taken for the library scrapbook.
3pm | Library Dogs | Join friends with your favorite book and read to library dogs.
3:30pm | Lego Club | Join friends to play with Legos and personalize a bookmark! Children and Families specialist Lisa Reese will hand out goodies.
Kids Book Swap Party
To celebrate National Library Week, kids are encouraged to bring books that they would like to pass on to others in their age group and exchange them for some new used reads!
April 16
10am | Enjoy free consultations with Grayton Beach Fitness Specialists and aesthetician Gabriela Voivulescu of Spa 98. Jim Dietrich Honey Farm will provide samples of local tupelo honey. Ocean Elements Day Spa will be giving free Chair Massages.
1pm-2pm | Free Tai-Chi for Health class
5:30-6:30pm | Marty Kernion, Ph.D. from Natural Health Approaches will speak Natural Health to an audience. Personal consultations in the library prior to presentation.
6:30-7:30pm | Janet Hardy, a certified NeuroMuscular Therapist, will speak on Myofascial release.
April 17
10am | Bring the kids and enjoy a Children’s Easter Egg Hunt and Toddler’s Story Hour.
April 19
9-10am | Dune Fitness personal trainer Sue Samuels will instruct a free Total Body Conditioning class.
10–11am | Visit with author Arlene Karian as she shares her experience on how you can raise extraordinary children and unleash their hidden potential. Her book Mentoring Your Child to Win: The Seven Breakthrough Keys - How a Single Former Welfare Mom Raised a Multi-Millionaire Kid is available on amazon.com.
During National Library Week, The Coastal Branch Library will have works on display by Art in Public Places artist Mark Douglass. Other works on display include, caricatures, cartoons, and Music in Pictures, an educational project and student art contest presented by Rosemary Beach Foundation.
