Informational Meeting for High School Students
Winter Reading Challenge and Bay Restoration Project

Santa Rosa Beach, Walton County Coastal Library- December 12th from 4:30 – 5:30 p.m.
High School students are invited to attend an informational meeting with Choctawhatchee Basin Alliance and AmeriCorps team for those interested in becoming assistants to AmeriCorps leaders. This is a Winter Reading Challenge for all families and a Bay Restoration Project combined. Beginning in January, High School Student volunteers with CBA will host 5 activities for children at the Coastal Branch Library through May. The activates will include growing Sea Oats, Salt Marsh Exploration, learning about Water Conservation, exploring Watersheds, Oysters, setting up Touch Tanks with Live Animals and a Planting Field experience. The projects coincide with the Coastal library’s Winter Reading Challenge for kids complete with reading logs, prizes and learning activities. All high school students are encouraged to attend this informational meeting to learn more about these activities and earn your community service hours for college.
