Just got this email forwarded from the Alaqua Animal Refuge about a planned car wash this weekend! What a grayt idea!
Is your car plastered with love bugs like mine? Then go get your car washed and support the Refuge!
They are also looking for volunteers --- if you are able to volunteer contact me and I'll send you to the right person. (Didn't want to post their info online since I don't know 'em - Laurie Hood is not the organizer.)
Dear Friends,
On October 6th, 2007 from 11:00 am to 2 pm we will be having a car wash at the RE/MAX Southern Realty office in Destin to raise money for the Alaqua Animal Refuge. The Alaqua Refuge, which has just recently opened, rescues dogs and cats from death row at the local shelters. They also take in any animals that have been abandoned or can no longer be cared for by their current owners. At any one time the Alaqua Refuge has over 100 cats and dogs, pigs, miniature donkeys, etc. They welcome visitors (especially kids) at any time to come by and visit!
The Refuge has a great need for cat and dog houses as winter approaches. Otherwise these animals will be out in the cold. We are holding a car wash to try and raise money to build them some shelters. Please help in any way you can!
If you want to learn more you can visit their website at www.alaquaanimalrefuge.com.
