Event has been canceled due to weather. See update below on the last post.
Eden Gardens will once again illuminate the park for an evening that has become a local holiday tradition. The Friends of Eden Gardens State Park invite the public to the Christmas Luminary Stroll throughout the park grounds on Saturday, December 11th from 5:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m..
Over 2000 luminaries will be lit and placed along the garden paths of the park, giving the public the opportunity to experience the magic of Eden Gardens at nightfall. There will be music and carolers on the grounds throughout the evening, as well as cookies and hot beverages provided by the Friends of Eden Gardens at the Pavilion area.
The Wesley House will not be open to the public for viewing that evening. Park guests may come out for regularly scheduled tours Thursday through Monday to view the Christmas decorations.
Please be aware that the park will be quite dark even with the luminaries on the grounds. We recommend a flashlight when walking from the parking area to the main grounds. Additional parking will be available at Bay Elementary School.
Everyone's invited! Admission fees to the park are waived for the event. Donations to the Friends of Eden are welcome. This annual event is hosted by the Friends of Eden and the Florida Park Service.
Many organizations have contributed to the holiday decorations at Eden Gardens and the Wesley House: Green Thumb Garden Club, Sea Grove Garden Club, Pt. Washington Historical Society, Impact 100, Destin Woman’s Club, Emerald Coast Wine Cellars, JoAnn Kellogg and Beth Lamberson, Park Rangers Scarlett Dunn and Curt Moore, and The Friends of Eden.
Eden Gardens State Park is a treasure in South Walton, Florida. It's located bayside in Point Washington just north of Hwy 98 via County Road 395. Park Hours are from 8:00 a.m. until sunset, 365 days a year.
Guided tours of the historic Wesley House are available hourly Thursday through Monday. Visitors can enjoy the grounds, gardens, and picnic area daily from 8 A.M. to sunset.
