ALYS BEACH CRAFTED HAS BEEN CANCELLED

After carefully evaluating the circumstances around the recent increase in COVID-19 cases in our area, including the number of cases and the impact on area medical facilities, we have made the difficult decision to suspend the Alys Beach Crafted events in full until October 21-22, 2022. Once again, our primary concern is for the health and well-being of our Alys Beach community, our team members, our homeowners, patrons and guests, our partners and participating artists, mixologists, brewers, chefs, and distillers.

CALL FOR ENTRIES

Alys Beach, Florida—It is an honor to showcase and celebrate the craft and mastery of artisans, makers, brewers, distillers, mixologists and chefs from around the region and country as the centerpiece of our newest signature event, Alys Beach Crafted. We are actively seeking submissions from artisans whose craft holds special appeal for a luxury audience, and whose process holds refinement and richness of story and source.

Rules for entry and participation information are detailed here in the Maker’s Market Artisan submission form. Submissions will be accepted through August 1, 2021. 20 to 30 artisans will be selected to participate, and notifications of selection will be sent by August 15, 2021.

Our hope is that the Alys Beach Crafted Maker’s Market will offer talented creators of various genres a powerful platform for sharing their works and their stories with a discerning, receptive audience who appreciates beautiful workmanship, high-quality materials, fine craftsmanship, and custom, bespoke designs enriched by the experience of being welcomed into the creative story.

ABOUT ALYS BEACH CRAFTED

Alys Beach Crafted is the newest of signature events to be hosted by The Alys Foundation. Sprung from the successful debut of Firkin Fête in 2019, Crafted celebrates the collaboration of talents, pooled from throughout the Southeast, that come together to enrich the 30A (Scenic Highway 30A) experience. Crafted tells the stories behind a refined collection of craft beverages, culinary experiences, artistry, and workmanship. Crafted will be a weekend of events here in Alys Beach, a gathering of food & drink masters and renowned craftspeople from around the region sharing the process, the inspiration, and the product of their craft at the Maker’s Market, Cocktail Seminars, the Spirited Soirée and Firkin Fête. Alys Beach Crafted is pleased to announce that all proceeds will benefit a local non-profit focused on serving the food insecure in Walton County, Food For Thought, 501(c)(3). Tickets for the Event will go on sale to the public August 1, 2021.

Join us for our 2nd Annual Firkin Fête on October 1st, 2021. Firkin Fête features a unique tasting experience as we tap firkins of beer created by local and regional breweries. The firkins, each an 11-gallon keg, are unique in that no one, including the brewers themselves, can know what the final product will taste like until the firkins are tapped for the event! Firkin Fete will also feature live music performances and the culinary creations of chefs from throughout the southeast. This festive evening is not to be missed!

The Spirited Seminars feature four opportunities to learn from some of the best Mixologists in the industry.
The seminars will explore the art of the cocktail from the elements of tasting like a pro to special tips for crafting the perfect drink for seamless, gracious entertaining. Preparations, pairings, new craft ingredients and products – these renowned Mixologists invite you behind the bar for a glimpse into the craft of creating beautiful cocktails.

Garden to Glass- Join the ladies of A Sip of Paradise, a community garden specifically grown for Atlanta-area bartenders, as they teach you how to make the freshest cocktails using ingredients from your own garden.

Make it Sparkle- Bubbles will be flowing as Lynette Marrero of Speed Rack and Meaghan Dorman of Raines Law & Dear Irving show you how to dazzle your guests with their seminar focused on spritz-based cocktails.

Taste like a Pro- We all know how to sip and swirl, but we’ll dive deeper with the experts, Christina Veira with Bar Mordecai and Sarah Pierre with 3Parks Wine Shop, as they uncover their secrets for tasting spirits and wine like a pro. They’re sure to leave you with a greater, more informed knowledge of the components of tasting.

Whoa! Low & No- Step into this tropical cocktail seminar ready to learn how to be the host with the most! The savvy hosts of this seminar, Morgan Sullivan of Cure and McLain Hedges of Yacht Club Bar, will guide you through catering to your guests and their dietary needs, a true show of hospitality. This seminar takes you through the prep and process of mixing cocktails with “Whoa”, Low and No ABV – a skill that will take your entertaining prowess to the next level.

Spirited Soirée features craft cocktails from hand-selected mixologists from all over the country. We have paired the mixologists with designated distilleries, to create the perfect cocktail. Guests will have the opportunity taste the spirits both neat and in the curated cocktail, and will hear from the distillers and mixologists on the inspiration and process behind each unique pairing. Enjoy hand-crafted cocktails and spirits, and take home some of the new concepts, trends, and products currently setting the beverage world a-buzz.
