I'm not good at homemaking skills. Heck, when a button comes off, I either safety pin it on or or take it to the cleaners to get it fixed. But a few years ago in a Gator frenzy I did sew a Gator costume for Halloween from a pattern.

Bought a green sweatsuit and attached the huge Gator tail that I had created. I bought a gigantic Gator head on University Avenue in Gainesville from a truck parked in front of the bars across from the library (LOL -- study hard, party hard), and "wala" -- I had a Gator Halloween costume. I have taught class in it several times.
Take home message: if I can sew a Gator tail, anyone can sew anything. Just do it!
