BIG Sale to Fort Walton Beach from Detroit on Delta

I just got our tickets to come to SoWal in August and they were $230 each and usually they're about $350. I think the fares go through November. I had to leave on a Monday rather than Saturday to get these rates, but they were worth it. If you're coming to SoWal from the midwest between now and fall, it could be worth it to see if Delta has good rates for your dates.

There was a news report on it recently. I think it had something to do with the monies collected to lure SouthWest there. I think they have to spend it on lowering fares even though they didn't get the airline.

I'm so happy with these fares. The flight is still long because it has a layover, but it's all worth it. The midwest is an untapped market for SoWal. Heck, if the weather makes it to 50 and sunny any day between November and March, we're ecstatic.

Flying Delta out of Detroit in May and got tix for 360 per person (2 of us) including a week rental car. One layover, but only for an hour.

sounds like a good deal if you get the rental car, too. They go for about $200+ each week. I'm on the prowl for cheaper rental car rates for August now.

When I bundled the car with flight while searching, I got the best deal.

I hope Delta keeps this up because I'm getting the feeling I'm going to want to go back here again for vacation!
