ARTSQUEST FINE ARTS & MUSIC FESTIVAL ANNOUNCES WINNER
"ArtsQUEST -- GREATEST MOM CONTEST"

The Cultural Arts Alliance of Walton County has selected the winning essay for the "ArtsQUEST for the Greatest Mom" from more than 150 heart-warming stories.
The winner is Magan Weeks, Opp, Ala. In her winning essay, Magan highlighted the strength and perseverance of her mom through some very challenging times.
"We are thrilled to be able to reward this mother and her daughter with a very special ArtsQuest experience and a stay at one of the most beautiful homes in Seaside," said Jennifer Steele, executive director of the CAA.
Magan and her mom, Cheryl, will enjoy a three-day, two-night stay in Savannah Sands, a luxurious three-bedroom, gulf-front home, courtesy of Cottage Rental Agency in Seaside.
This special mother and daughter will also enjoy dinner at Bud & Alley's Restaurant in Seaside and the Friday night "Songs on the Lawn" concert featuring Michelle Malone and David Ryan Harris. Mom will also enjoy some a relaxing, stress-relieving Beach Ready Massage at the Beach Ready Spa in Seaside. After a fun-filled weekend at the beach, they'll enjoy a delicious Mother's Day Brunch at the First Note Cafe in Blue Mountain Beach.
As an added bonus, the CAA and Sharon Long are hosting Magan and Cheryl for one of the watercolor classes that Long is teaching throughout the festival.
"After reading that Magan and her mom both love music and she loves to draw, we wanted to enhance the prize with an art class," said Steele. "Sharon was on board immediately and is looking forward to hosting them at her fantasy flowers watercolor workshop during ArtsQuest in Ruskin Place."
Magan wrote in her nomination essay "I went to the beach with a friend for spring break and mom says that is all that matters to her but I want a vacation for just me and my mom. I want to do something special for my mom so that we can have a special memory and just laugh and have fun."
"This statement summed it up for us. ArtsQuest is about having fun, enjoying art and making memories that will last a lifetime," said Steele.
