Thanks Matt! I am guessing from your response that Uber or Lyft is not always reliable there?
There just aren't that many drivers in the area. Scheduling helps for sure, but there may not be a driver right when you need it. Having driven for Uber, it will get sent to the closest driver when they finish the ride they are on. Unless it has changed the app doesn't send somebody to wait. It just slots you in the queue at the time you requested.
Just as an estimate it is $70 from ECP to my house in Santa Rosa Beach.
We're a smaller market. When you schedule an Uber here it starts looking for a driver 30 minutes before your time. Lyft will actually push the reservation and allow a driver to claim it. You're still dependent on an independent contractor who doesn't have any negative consequences if they blow it off.
Thanks for the additional info. We ended up scheduling transportation through Black Taxi. Good info to know though about Uber. We use Uber occasionally when we go out in the evening there & got stranded last year. Fortunately there was someone back at the beach house that hadn't been drinking & rescued us.
