The Arts and Design Society is calling all artists to participate in their upcoming art competition "Let's Go Van Gogh.” This is open to all artists and all mediums. The judge will be announced. Work can be turned in Saturday Sept. 3, 1-4 p.m., or Monday, Sept. 5, 9 a.m.-noon. Works are to reflect the various styles of Vincent Van Gogh. The reception will be Friday Sept. 9, 5-7 p.m.

A different kind of workshop is offered Oct. 4-7 from Golden Paints. It begins with a free lecture on Oct. 4 7:30-9:30 p.m. with free giveaway and door prizes.
A three-day workshop follows for $215/ADSO members, $235/non members, with single class pricing available.
It all includes free samples, giveaways and lots of free stuff. You need to sign up in August, for Mr. Tobin to have an idea how many will attend in order to send enough materials. The classes have been offered all over and great reports have followed.
Casting for Jewelry Design
On Sept. 6 form 10 a.m. – 2 p.m., learn to make casts for your jewelry design pieces with Mary W. Smith. This is a basic resin casting allowing you to make your own design. Cost is $70/ADSO member, $80/non member. A material list will be available on registration

Wednesday, Sept. 28 at 11:30 a.m. ADSO will host K.C. Williams, Gallery Director for Mattie Kelly Arts Center of NW Florida State College. Her program will discuss the research and recovery of stolen art from the Nazi-era during the Holocaust. Please e-mail adsoluncheon@yahoo.com for reservations. The cost is $12 per person whether member or non-member.
