A few years back there was a thread that pertained to an AC company in the area that knew how to install a control system on the actual units to where the guests could still have control of the thermostat but it was programmed on the unit so that the system would be regulated without the guests knowing. Does anyone know of that company or any company that can do this? I have called several and they can install a therm. that requires a code but we tried that and all we got were phone calls asking for the code.

Thank for any information.

My A/C tech programmed my digital thermostat so it couldn't go above or below certain temperatures. Would that accomplish your goal. He said 90% of his summer service calls were related to renters freezing up the air handler by setting the temperature control too low.

We have something similar but you have to have a code to change and because I do my own renting I answered more phone calls wanting to know the code so I was hoping I could do this instead.

I can highly recommend Southern Aire. If there is a solution to your problem, they will have it.

Mills Heating and A/C has a normal looking thermostat that will not allow a guest to go below 72 degrees. As stated above the biggest issue is renters just setting it as low as it will go and then freezing up the coils.
