The A+Art, Committee of the Cultural Arts Alliance of Walton County is proud to present the annual juried exhibition “Top of the Class” from April 4 until May 30, 2014. The opening reception is April 4, 2014, 5-7pm at the Northwest Florida State College South Walton Center, 109 Greenway Trail, Santa Rosa Beach, FL.
“Top of the Class” is a juried art exhibition presented by the Cultural Arts Alliance of Walton County in partnership with Northwest Florida State College. This exhibition is part of the continuing effort of the A+Art Committee, whose mission is to showcase the work of Cultural Arts Alliance member artists and to enhance the public spaces of the South Walton Center of Northwest Florida State College. The exhibition will be displayed at the South Walton Center of NWFSC from April 4 until May 30, 2014.
The artists in the exhibition include Susan Alfieri, Charlotte Arnold, Melody Bogle, Donnelle Clark, Heather Clements, Maria Dante, Judy Dewar, Carol Dickson, Joanna Ellington, Allison Hicks, Dinett, Hok, JoAnne Jones, Lois Kennedy, Suzanne LeLoup-West, Bonita Loman, Susan Lucas, Theresia McInnis, Kristina Perry, Susan Richardson, Kathleen Schumacher, Janet and Steve Thomas, Tanis Thomas, Joan Vienot, Richard Weber, Ann Welch, Lynn Wilson and Mary Zahner.
Our juror and judge, Brian Jekel from the Pensacola Christian College stated during the selection process, “Overall I saw a show that had a real sense of creativity, design, color, and craftsmanship. I loved the diversity and thoughtfulness that went into these works.”
Awards will be announced at the opening reception and include the Trustmark Bank Best in Show Award ($500), The Livingston Financial Planning Award of Excellence ($250), McCullar and Company Award of Excellence ($250) and The Hidden Lantern Bookstore and Gallery Award of Excellence ($250). The Watercolor UPS Store is sponsoring the show by providing the printed program for the event. In addition, those attending the opening will be allowed to select a “People’s Choice” award.
