Held every Mother’s Day weekend, ArtsQuest's main attraction is the juried fine arts show that features more than 130 participating artists exhibiting and selling their work throughout Central Square and the Seaside Lyceum. Art buyers can spend the weekend perusing booths that offer only the highest-quality work by artists who are competing for $10,000 in prizes including Best In Show and Best In
Category.

The festival showcases forty of the CAA’s finest member artists in the Betty & Johnny Main Tent, hundreds of students’ work in the Walton County Student Exhibit and art demonstrations by local artists and groups like the Plein Air Painters. Attendees of all ages and skill-levels can get create their own masterpieces, either at KidZone or in one of our adult workshops, like basket weaving and watercolor. “A favorite aspect of ArtsQuest has become the workshops,” says Jennifer Steele, executive director of the CAA. “A piece of artwork created by you or your child is the best vacation keepsake I can imagine.”

For the music lover, ArtsQuest offers a diverse lineup of local and national acts in genres ranging from classical and jazz to bluegrass, pop and gypsy swing on two stages all weekend. Other live entertainment includes interactive storytelling by the Seaside Repertory Theatre and performances by 30A Dancewave.

Seaside’s existing galleries, shops, restaurants and beautiful accommodations are the perfect backdrop for South Walton’s signature arts event. ArtsQuest provides a special experience for every member of the family and continues to be an annual Mother’s Day tradition. Did you know that ARtsQuest began 24 years ago in Grayton Beach? It was known then as the Grayton Beach Fine Arts Festival, and it lived in Grayton Beach for seven years. On the 20th anniversary of ArtsQuest, the Cultural Arts Alliance (CAA) decided to start a tradition of having a reunion event, bringing friends of the Festival, old and new, back to Grayton during ArtsQuest. This year, there are two opportunities to get together, reminisce, hear great music and storytelling, eat delicious food and just enjoy the laid-back, funky vibe of historic Grayton Beach.
On Wednesday, May 9th, there will be live music by local favorites, The Steenos, who will be picking their bluegrass tunes in the Back Yard of Love at Hibiscus. From 6:00pm to 9:00pm, Chef Colin Smith will have some of his creations available for purchase, and beer and wine will be available for donation.
On Thursday, May 10th, be enchanted as South Walton natives share their stories of days gone by during Grayt Coffee House's "Stories and Shrimp Boil." A low country boil will be available for $10 a plate, and beer and wine will be available for a donation.
